With summer in full swing on the Sunshine Coast, families are heading out to enjoy water activities like swimming, boating and just hanging out at the beach.
While most parents and carers know that it is important to apply sunscreen and put on a hat, how many would know what to do if they saw that their child was in difficulty? Accidental drownings, slips, falls or heart attacks can occur around swimming pools or even at the beach. You need to know the primary defences to ensure water safety.

Christmas Events and Christmas Carols on the Sunshine Coast

This week we are featuring many of the festive Christmas events that will be happening here on the Sunshine Coast. These events include street lighting displays and twilight markets, street parades and of course, appearances by Santa Claus himself. Christmas Carnivals and fireworks will also feature in the festivities.
Get into the spirit of Christmas by attending one of these events.
An integral part of the Sunshine Coast Christmas celebrations will of course be the many Christmas Carol singing events happening up and down the coast from Coolum Beach to Kings Beach.

Visit the Caloundra Street Fair
The Caloundra Street Fair is a vibrant and colourful street market that attracts thousands of visitors every week on a Sunday morning. You will find almost one hundred stalls showcasing a wide selection of products. Everything is covered, including health and wellbeing services, street food and fresh food as well. The fair also features musical performances across a wide range of genres. There is something for everyone.
The fair is operated every Sunday by the Caloundra Chamber of Commerce and was first established in 2002 as a community market.
